Hiring Public School Teachers
It is the policy of the Diocese of Belleville that a teacher who has worked in the public-school system and is hired by a school in the Diocese shall receive credit for this public-school experience. The local elementary or secondary school in the Diocese shall determine the credit given for the teacher’s public school experience. The credit will not be less than one-year credit for every three years of school teaching experience. Credit given will help determine their position on the Diocesan Salary Scale.
