Comprehensive Benefits Plan

It is the policy of the Diocese of Belleville to provide a comprehensive benefit program for all eligible employees. Details of benefit plans are contained in separate Summary Plan Descriptions. All coverage and benefits are conditioned on satisfaction of the provisions of the specific plans. In the event any contradiction arises between the information contained in this policy and the official plan documentation and/or master insurance contracts, the plan document or master insurance contract will govern in all cases.

Retirement

Regular employees, regardless of the number of hours worked, are immediately eligible to participate in the 403(b)-retirement program. Employees who meet eligibility will be automatically enrolled with a 2% pre-taxed employee contribution. Employees will be provided an opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of auto enrollment. The employer will make an employer contribution of 3% of earnings and a matching contribution up to 2% if the employee is contributing up to 2%, if applicable beginning with the first pay period. Employees are allowed to make voluntary contributions to the plan up to the maximum amount allowed under the current IRS regulations and will have the option of pre-tax or Roth post-tax contributions.
