Welcome to the Office of Finance
The mission of the Diocesan Finance Office is to ensure proper stewardship of church temporal resources. We have the responsibility to safeguard the Church's assets, exercise prudence in financial matters, be accountable to donors of the church and comply with all civil regulations.
We accomplish this by ensuring strong internal controls, providing an accounting for the sources and uses of funds, and by being a resource for parishes, schools, and agencies.
Financial oversight is provided by the diocesan Finance Council, which is directly responsible to the bishop, and by routine financial audits. Annual independent audits are conducted for various funds of the diocese.
Fraud Prevention
The Diocese of Belleville has an established Fraud Policy which covers the financial operations of the Diocese and all of its parishes, schools and agencies. The details of this policy can be found under the " Policies and Guidelines " section of this site. Any suspected or documented cases of fraud should be reported immediately to the Diocese of Belleville Finance Office by calling the Diocesan Fraud Hotline at (866) 712-5177, or by email to This email address is being protected from spambots.
