Curriculum-Human Relations/Multi-Cultural
The schools and PSR programs affirm theirresponsibility to assume a leadership role in affecting community attitudesin relation to the needs ofsociety. A vital part of this endeavor isthe creation of a climate within the schools and PSR which enhances the dignity and importance of each individual. Equally important is the strengthening of steps to promote a feeling of understanding, trust, and acceptance among all peoples regardless of how they differ from others.
In order to develop these attitudes in our students, the schools and PSR programs emphasize intergroup relations as an essential part of in-service programs for teachers and other employees.
The learning environment must reflect diverse cultural traditions and contributions. Such an environment allows students to develop a broader knowledge base, as well as a sense of respect for and tolerance of culturally diverse peoples, their customs, and their historic legacy.
The global education concept is embraced by the school and PSR programsin order to have children grow up to be competent and responsible members of the world society, with an understanding of themselves and the world around them.
