Tuition Fees - Parish Assessment for Neighboring Parishes of Elementary Schools

  1. Parishes that have space available should accept students from neighboring parishes that do not have schools of their own or that do not have space available. Catholic parents should be given the opportunity to educate  their children in a Catholic school wherever possible, if their own parish  does not have a school, and there is classroom space available in a neighboring parish school.
  2. Parishes with a school should charge parents from a neighboring parish the same or slightly higher tuition rate as their own parishioners. Out of parish tuition charges should apply to students that do not belong to a Catholic parish or are not active members of a parish (as determined by the pastor of the parish without a school).
  3. Every parish is responsible for the religious education of its youth and has a financial obligation to provide religious education. Parishes without a school shall be financially responsible for 80 of the per student cost not covered by tuition for each student enrolled in the neighboring parish elementary school.

For those parents who want a Catholic school education for their children,  financial assistance should be available as in parishes that have schools.
