Audio Visual Materials
Movies, videos and audio materials from the internet or in hard copy format can be an excellent means through which aspects of a school/parish school of religion (PSR) curriculum can be presented to students. Before the use of any video or audio material, the age level appropriateness of the item must be determined. Whenever possible the moral quality of the materials should be ascertained through the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops (USCCB). The principal/catechetical leader shall be consulted by the teacher/catechist if there is any possible or potential question as to the age appropriateness or moral quality of the movie, video or audio material. Movies are to be used for instructional purposes; showing copyrighted movies or other copyrighted material for any other purpose is considered a violation of copyright laws.
