Planning-Consolidation and Closing of Schools
Prior to the formulation of plans to discontinue or to consolidate a Catholic school the pastor, local board of education, or parish council shall consult with the Bishop and the Office of Education.
A proposal to discontinue or to consolidate Catholic school(s) must be submitted to the Bishop and evaluated and approved by the Diocesan Office of Education. The Office of Education will review the issues involved in the proposal with the Diocesan Board of Education and its comments and/or recommendations shall be included as part of the final decision making process.
The recommendation of the parish and/or regional school board and the Office of Education shall be submitted to the Bishop for final approval.
