A southern Illinois where hope prevails, justice reigns, and people are transformed.
Catholic Urban Programs (CUP) has been providing services throughout Southern Illinois for over 40 years. Founded in 1973 as a department of the Catholic Diocese of Belleville, CUP served the poor of East St. Louis. Over the years, CUP (currently the Human Services Office) has expanded the area it serves and has helped others create additional programs (Griffin Center, Neighborhood Law Office, Holy Angels Shelter, and Hubbard House) to meet additional needs of the same population
